L’edizione 2015 di Micromondi aveva per tema il cibo e l’orto urbano e, vista la facilità di usare le schede MaKey MaKey con frutta e verdura, abbiamo deciso di partecipare con una installazione basata proprio su una di queste.
L’installazione “E’ tempo di…” parte dal fatto che al giorno d’oggi nei negozi si trova frutta e verdura di qualsiasi stagione, per cui bambini e ragazzi che non sono a contatto con un vero orto, possono non percepire la reale stagionalità di ciò che acquistiamo.
The 2015 edition of Micromondi theme was the food and the urban garden and, given the ease of use a Makey Makey with fruits and vegetables, we decided to participate with an installation based precisely on one of these boards.
The idea of the installation “E’ tempo di…” is that nowadays in stores there are fruits and vegetables typical of any season, so children who are not in contact with a real garden, can not perceive their real seasonality.
Abbiamo quindi predisposto undici oggetti, tra frutta e verdura di tutte le stagioni, collegati ad un MaKey MaKey e ad un programma realizzato in Scratch, proiettato su un grande schermo.
Scelta una stagione, i bambini devono indovinare la frutta e verdura di quella stagione, toccandola. Se si tocca l’oggetto giusto, questo si ingrandirà, altrimenti ci sarà soltanto un suono.
L’allestimento è stato realizzato all’interno della Biblioteca Comunale di Terni nelle giornate del 25 e 26 settembre.

We therefore prepared eleven items, including fruits and vegetables of all seasons, linked to a Makey Makey and to a program implemented in Scratch, projected on a large screen.
Choosing a season, the children have to match the fruits and vegetables of the season, touching them. If one touches the right object, this will enlarge, otherwise there will be only a sound.
The installation was inside the Public Library of Terni on 25th and 26th September.
